In My Bag: Library Edition

Style

This In My Bag post is part of an ongoing series. Check out the rest here.

Hooray for summer and hooray for beach reads! A brand new branch of our OKC library system opened up a few weeks ago, and I was reminded of how much I love going to the library and exiting with stacks of books. I forgot to bring our trusty library bag with us this last time. There’s always too many to carry!

I have been a book lover  my whole life. There was nothing more wonderful to me as a kid than sliding into bed with a whole stack of books and a flashlight, especially in summer when I could stay awake until 1 or 2a.m.  Now that I’m older, I have been known to stay up that late every now and then, but it’s gotta be a total angsty page-turner for me to go without my beloved sleep.

Here’s what’s on my book schedule for summer. I noticed that I’m kind of on a Downton Abbey-esque kick with most of these being of the 18th & 19th century English persuasion. Maybe I should add Jane Eyre to the list as well…

The Winter Sea
House at Tyneford (if you loved Downton Abbey, you will LOVE this book!)
The Shoemaker’s Wife
Mr. Rosenblum Dreams in English
The Forgotten Garden (another all-time fave)
Mariana

Bag from Chance Co.

Tell me, chickadees — What’s on your list to read this summer?

with love,
Rachel
