Happy 4th Birthday, Jude

IMG_3591 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Where did four years go?

I tend to guage the amount of time passing by relating it to college.  It took four years to finish college (ermm, actually five for me), and that seemed like quite the accomplishment.  So when I realized it had been (gulp) 12 years since I graduated high school, I thought, “I could have gone to college 3 times by now.”

And now my baby is four and in that span I could have gotten another college degree.  Maybe it’s just me, but that length of time is just so monumental!  How he has grown – and how Simon & I have grown, too!  What did we do before Jude? we ask ourselves.

Saturday was the actual day of his birthday.  We celebrated by lunching at Whole Foods and letting him spend his birthday money from his Nonnie at the toy store.

In love with all the Tolix at Whole Foods.

Oh, random photo from Thursday night at the church fall festival: Jude in his Halloween costume. Captain Hook!Ahoy mateys. It's captain hook Jude!

Then on Saturday we had the party here at our house with the family.

And then there’s me — good grief, you would’ve thought they were pajamas for ME! Ha!

So after being fully sugared and celebrated, the sweet birthday boy was exhausted.  This photo is actually from yesterday at naptime when I walked into check on him. He was passed out, clutching his legos in hand!

Sound asleep for naptime, clutching his birthday Legos.

Check out this hilarious Jones Sodas that Amy customized for us!  Half were me, half were Earl (Earl’s bday is right before mine).

But the biggest surprise was waiting on the driveway in the backyard — a cupcake truck!

Jude grabbed a stool, stood on it and would yell, “HEY! CUPCAKE GUY!  HEYYYY!  CUPCAKE GUY!!!! I WANNA CUPCAKE!!!”

Madeline’s Pink Candy Party

I checked out Rachelle’s blog this morning to see if she had posted any pix of Madeline’s pink candy party, and she had! Hooray! Everything turned out so cute! I’m glad it was a success!

Z Gallerie Beverage Dispensers

I’m all about a gorgeous bev dispenser. Layers of Meaning featured the artichoke & pineapple ones, but Z Gallerie has several lovely options. Although I must say, the artichoke and pineapple versions are probably the most glamorous ones I’ve ever seen.

All options available here.

Further Confirming Our Insanity

Ok, we are all officially nuts. NUTS. After Jude & Noah’s costume party, Dad was remarking that we had so much fun with all the wigs that everybody brought were the life of the party. I think the exact phrase was, “We should bust out the wigs at our next party!”

So, we took him seriously. Maybe a little too seriously.

In the month of November, we have 3 birthdays: Dad (Nov. 5th), Luke (Nov. 10th) and Eric (Nov. 14th). So we did a big combined Wigapalooza. Amy ordered in meat from the Salt Lick BBQ in Austin, TX, and it was incredible. There was also quite the selection of cheeses. And for dessert? A spread of individual slices of cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory. I mean, it just doesn’t get any better than that.

It was a wigapalooza!

Unless it’s all happening when you’re wearing a crazy wig.

Mullet Simon

Me-YOW. Am I a lucky gal or what? Billy Ray Cyrus, you got nothin’ on Simon.

The Wig Spread

Here’s all the wigs laid out on the dining room table. And it’s true – there’s something about a wig that brings out the funny in everybody. It was pretty hilarious.

laid-back Earl

Everybody that put this wig on manages to look like a laid-back surfer dude. That whole, “I just rolled outta bed and into the surf” look.

Dad in a mullet
Mom made Dad take off the mullet wig – she said he didn’t look good in it. LOL Actually, the mullet wig was probably the one wig that really looked awful on everybody.

Happy happy birthday to Dad, Eric, and Luke! It was a grand occasion!
