New Bloggers to check out from Altitude Summit 2014 - www.pencilshavingsstudio.com

Let’s make some new internet friends! Sometimes you need to shake up your blog reader with fresh inspiration. And after spending a few days with something like 700 fabulous bloggers last week, I’m full of new fun things bookmarked to check out.

Paper Built – I met this lovely lady at my roundtable and I was immediately in love with everything she showed me. An architect by trade, she designs these amazing printables that can be assembled into the cutest gift boxes, crafts, cards, etc. Her business card folded up into a cute little 3D paper shop! How amazing is that? I’m dying to get my hands on these printable crayons.

Goods by Grinn – I met the fabulous pillow designer of Goods by Grinn at breakfast and couldn’t be happier to have connected with such a talented designer and shopowner. She designs gorgeous pillows in a variety of metallic colorways. You MUST check it out, especially if you’re a fan of Caitlin Wilson Textiles.

Commona My house – Amy was one of the first new people I met at Alt this year. As a former Tulsan and now newly transplanted to Utah, she happily shuttled us to our dinner with the Furbish girls on the first night and then afterward gave us a lovely tour of SLC. She’s funny, talented, and has a lovely blog. I have no doubt if we lived close by we’d be great friends.

Rosa Beltran Design (plus see her fab workspace on Apartment Therapy) -Rosa was also a Furbish dinner attendee, and a crazy amazing interior designer from LA. She’s looking to launch a custom furniture line later this year, and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with.

Furbish/I suwannee – I mentioned Jamie the other day (they’re carrying a few PSS goodies!) but it was a total blog crush moment for me when I got to meet up with her in real life. I’ve been a longtime follower and I highly admire her aesthetic, especially as she’s transitioned into shopowning. She and her team not only threw a fab dinner for us on Wednesday night, but also designed a pretty smashing table setup for all the Alt attendees on Thursday (no small feat!).

Monica Lee – Monica’s Smart Creative Women series has become my new favorite go-to to have on in the background when working. She’s smart (obvs) and I love how she’s inspiring  creative women  through her interviews with fellow female makers and artists. (The latest one with the Sugar Paper LA girls was fabulous.) I absolutely love getting to talk with Monica anytime I can – definitely check out her site.

Idieh Design – Heidi’s sister Heather Crabtree introduced us virtually and I’m so glad we got to connect! Check out Heidi for some great visual inspiration and branding advice.

Rubi Jones – I geeked out (big time!) when I got the email from Alt that Rubi Jones was offering appointments to do hair for speakers. Um, where do I sign up?! I’ve been a longtime reader of her blog and if you’re looking for interesting, practical hair inspiration and advice, she’s your gal.

Tom Kat Studio – the TomKat girls are faaaabulous. In addition to running their party shop, they also provide some amazing eye candy through their blog. If you love parties, you will love Tom Kat Studio.

The Fox and She – we go to chat a handful of times, and I am totally in love with her stylish and beautiful blog. I had to be convinced that her dog really is not a fox.

Lay Baby Lay – Joni and I connected back in September at BHG’s StyleMaker event, and I wish to heaven that we lived close by. She is super fabulous, and beyond talented. Check her blog out for loads of nursery inspiration.

There you have it! A bunch of fun, fabulous friends — who are your go-to bloggers these days?

with love,
Rachel
