Catching Up

Sometimes when you freelance like I do, it’s hard to find time to work on your own stuff. Like business cards, for example. I had a bunch made up 5 years ago when I first started but time has gone on and the look I had then isn’t the same look I wanted now.  It was time for a redux. So I drug my feet forever and then finally decided it was time for a new batch. I ordered them through Moo and I am so pleased with the satiny beautiful paper and the print quality. The other thing I love is that I can pick as many as 100 different designs for the fronts of the cards and keep the same design on the back. Genius, Moo! Perfect for folks like moi who have serious design ADD. And let me just tell you — designing for yourself is the hardest job a designer ever has.

My new boxes also came in and I attached my custom stickers. So when you place an order w/ Pencil Shavings Paper, your stuff comes in either an enormous pretty envelope or in my cheerful yellow boxes. Fun, huh?

I’m running low on blogging material right now as I’m swamped with projects and other stuff. So I thought I’d open it up to you, the readers!  Anything you want to know? Anything you want to ask? Fashion, parenting, designing, freelancing, blah blah blah — I’ll answer it!

Love the cards. Kind of want to order just to get a bright yellow envelope in the mail! So sunny!

I’m a feet dragger as well when it comes to designing something for myself. I’ve been thinking about getting an embosser an embossing my sprout logo onto the cards. Just for an interesting texture accent. Whatever I do I need to get on it soon. I’m planning on going to the Mom 2.0 Blogging Summit in New Orleans and need lots of biz cards to pass out. Are you planning on going? And, what was the turn around time for your cards?

I too would love gong to Mom 2.0 — I keep kicking myself that I didn’t go to ALT. I REALLY wanted to go to that one and it just didn’t happen. So I don’t know whether to save my pennies for that one next year or to try to go to another conference (like Mom 2.0). What are you looking to get out of it?

I used Moo for the cards and the turnaround was a tiny bit long, but shorter than they had estimated. IMO, the quality and pricing makes up for it.
