Macy’s & A Giveaway!

I was recently contacted by Macy’s a few weeks back about their upcoming fashion workshop – an intensive five-day training session that only 20 women and minority business owners will be handpicked for and they asked me to pass along this opportunity to my blog readers.

The Workshop at Macy’s is a four-day training course held at Macy’s Herald Square office in New York City. It is open to minority and women owned businesses and aims to provide them with the experience and industry know-how needed to score a major retail partnership. The Workshops will be led by seasoned industry experts and has the potential to open doors to many more exciting opportunities. Anyone who is interested and meets the requirements are welcome to apply, but only a few shining stars will be selected to attend this competitive course.

Man, I wish I’d known about this a few years back when I was involved (albeit for a brief year) in the fashion industry. It would have been an excellent opportunity to learn about how to succeed in a really (REALLY) tough business.  Too many times I felt like we had all these great ideas, but limited ways to really get them accomplished.  Having the help of an established leader in retail would have been priceless. But maybe this will help one of you guys out there. Edited to add: Please note that this is a competition of sorts. I am not participating in this, nor have I been offered a place. Macy’s is getting the word out for all the people who might be potential participants.  Thanks!
